Wrangling 125 Americans onto an Old-Fashioned Amsterdam Tram in Just 2 Minutes: How Did We Pull It Off?! Though it sounded daunting, the outcome was fantastic! It turned out to be one of the most memorable and joy-filled weddings we've ever planned here at My Forever Weddings

A unique Amsterdam wedding venue

Planning this Amsterdam wedding proved challenging, especially as our couple S&R had to postpone their dream celebration twice due to the pandemic. However, once we finally received the green light to proceed, the wait was definitely worth it!!

The wedding ceremony took place at the charming Harlemermeerstation, nestled in the heart of Amsterdam. Here, the historic train platform was beautifully transformed into a unique ceremony venue where S&R exchanged their heartfelt 'I Do's.' Surrounded by 125 guests from across the United States and around the globe, their Amsterdam love story unfolded in a truly unique and enchanting setting  

Cocktails on the rails! 

Our primary wedding venue, the station, needed some time for setup before the evening festivities began. To keep the excitement alive during this time, the station offered us the perfect solution: renting trams for the cocktail hour! It was a fantastic opportunity, but there was a catch—the trams shared the stop with Amsterdam's bustling public transportation system. With just a slim 2-minute window per tram, guests had to board swiftly, drink and snack in hand. Timing was everything as we wanted to ensure a seamless flow of events.

With two trams at our disposal, each guest was assigned a ticket to board one tram, my focus shifted to organizing guests inside while my lovely assistant ensured the trams were prepped for departure outside. Anticipating her signal, I eagerly dispatched each group of travelers!

The plan unfolded seamlessly! Our passengers, ready for adventure, eagerly boarded the trams, ready to embark on their journey through the charming streets of Amsterdam. Mirroring the efficiency of a seasoned train conductors, we managed to get everyone on board right on schedule—I even had a whistle to add to the authenticity of the experience!

Platform Eats and Beats!

It was time to head back to the station for dinner and dancing! The train platform had been beautifully transformed into a sit-down dinner setting, complete with long tables and exquisite decorations. The catering provided by the station exceeded all expectations, with guests raving about the delicious meal!

Speeches filled with laughter and happy tears made for unforgettable moments. The DJ set the mood, and soon everyone was having the time of their lives, enjoying the best party in Amsterdam well into the late hours.
